An interactive 2D map and tourist guide of Bangka Belitung is now can be downloaded at the homepage of visitbangkabelitung.com. The program is created by Dwi Jayanti (2012), as her final project at STMIK AMIKOM Yogyakarta.

On July, 24th, 2012 we are happy to announce that some of the articles in "Direktori Informasi/Obyek Wisata/wisata sejarah" are translated into Japanesse. This can only be done because our Japanesse Volounteer, Miss Mayumi Sano has put her best effort and time to translate them.

ON SOME AGENDAS OF CULTURE AND TOURISM OFFICE (CTO) OF KEPULAUAN BANGKA BELITUNG PROVINCE:

on 3rd October 2012,, CTO Of Provincial Gov. held direct consumer selling in Hotel Bumi Asih Palembang together with ASITA and Tour Operators and Hotels in Bangka Belitung. CTOs of Regencies and municipality were also backed up the event.

on 24th September 2012,, Provincial Government of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung was awarded Travel Club Tourism Award (TCTA) 2012 for the second time.

on 20th September 2012,, MoTCE and National Secretariat for Special Economic Zone held workhop on Special Economic Zone on Tourism, in Aston Sol Marina, Pangkalan Baru, Central Bangka. Attending the workshop are CTOs and Regional Development Planning Agencies, Environment Agency and related government agencies in Kepulauan Bangka Belitung.

on 18th-19th September 2012,, The CTO staff members did the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) formulating the 5 year strategic plan of CTO. The strategic plan is formulated for the middle term planning (2012-2017), facilitated by  Mr. M. Ikhsan from Provincial Government Strengthening Program (PGSP) UNDP.

on 14th September 2012,, The Human Resource Division of CTO organized training on Travel Pattern Formulation  for practitioners, in Aston Sol marina, pangkalanbaru.

on 14th September 2012,, Some members of the House of representatives of West Java Province visited Bangka Belitung for business trip. The Head of CTO presented the development of Culture and Tourism in Bangka Belitung to the group.

on 13 - 15 August 2012,, The judges of Cipta Pesona Award came to Bangka Belitung to grade the selected destinations. Parai Resort was the destination managed by private company selected by the Judges in Bangka, while in Belitung, the Judges graded Tanjung Pendam (manage by Government), and is also scheduled to make a field visit to Pulau Kepayang Eco-tourism island. The final result will be announce in September 2012.

on 10 August 2012,, Indonesia - Korea Friendship night was held in Aston. The event was actually scheduled for August 9th in the evening, yet should be postponed due to flight scheduled. The event was finally held on August 10th in the morning. The Lee Hyean Mee Dance Company performed 7 traditional korean dances (Taepyeongmu, Hanryangchum, Sanjo, Geommu, Buchaechum, Salpurichum and Ipchuk Sogomu. Sanggar Warisan Budaya performed dances from Bangka. CTO accompany the team to several destination in Bangka and Pangkalpinang.

On 19 July 2012, Students of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta who conducted KKN (Field Service) in Matras Village, visited Promotion and Marketing Division of CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung to inform their activities during the service, as well as to gain information and support from CTO. Other groups of KKN UGM  are stationed in Central bangka and Belitung Island.

From 4 -16 July 2012, the Human Resource and Institutionalizazion Division of CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung holds several agenda related to the promotion of Sadar Wisata and Tour Package Workshop in regencies and municipality in Bangka. In August, the campaign for Sadar Wisata is scheduled in Belitung Island.

From 11-15 July 2012, CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung supported the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy RI for the IMT GT Working group meeting on Tourism in Novotel, as well as the Tour D'Bangka.

From 30 June - 2 July 2012, CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung is holding Festival Serumpun Sebalai 2012 in Alun-Alun Taman Merdeka, Pangkalpinang (Bangka Island), with agendas: Traditional Dance Parade, National Culture and Art Performances and Serumpun Sebalai Expo.

On 26 June  CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung and Statistic Bureau (BPS) of Kepulauan Bangka belitung are holdingRefreshing Course for Tourism Sattelite Account/ Neraca Satelit Pariwisata Daerah (Nesparda) in BPS Kepulauan Babel Office. Mr. Abdul Kadir, The head of Data and Information Center of Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is also scheduled to present the latest data and information related to this TSA calculation.

From 14 - 17 June 2012, CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung and Bureau of Economic together with ASITA Babel were at Objek Wisata Expo in Ambarukmo Plaza, Yogyakarta. Bangka Belitung won the 2nd best booth for its design, attraction, cleanlines and information supplied.

From 31 May - 3 June 2012, CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung was at Gebyar Wisata 2012 in JCC Jakarta.

On 24 May 2012, CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung was with Andrea Hirata for Musikalisasi Laskar Pelangi in JEC Jogjakarta.

From 15-20 May 2012, CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung was at South Sumatra Expo 2012 in Jaka Baring, Palembang, South Sumatera with Travel Agents from Bangka Belitung.

From 2-6 May 2012, CTO of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung holds Tour Operator and Pers Tour supported by various star hotels, ASITA, Sriwijaya Air and companies in Bangka Belitung , inviting 29 Tour operators from Jakarta, Palembang and Kepri, and 15 Medias from Jakarta and Sumatra. Among the medias are  Kompas, Venue, National Geographic, Unearthing Asia, Sriwijaya inflight magazine, Femina, Cosmopolitan, Sumatera Express, Sriwijaya Post, Trans 7 Group, MNC Group,Nylon, MTS EO, Indi Communication EO and Adhitama Media Relation. The participants will visit various destinations in Bangka Island until May 4, and heading for Belitung in the afternoon to visit various destinations there until May 6. On 20 April 2012, at 13.00 in Restoran Kampung Bangka (Jl Panglima Polim 102 Blok M, Jakarta), The provincial CTO of Bangka Belitung and CTOs in Kabupaten/Kota of Bangka Belitung hold a gathering with hotels and ASITA/PHRI/HPI Bangka Belitung and present the tourism of Babel to tourism stakeholders in Jakarta as the part of Bangka Belitung Tourism Direct Selling Program.

On 5 April 2012, The CTO and Bappeda supported by UNDP through Provincial Governance Strengthening Program hosted the tourism technical meeting of All provincial planning agencies and CTOs in Sumatra region as the part of the forum of Governors of 10 provinces in Sumatra Region. The memorandum of understanding signed  agreed that all the provinces will support Visit Sumatra 2014 and cooperation among the provinces in conducting marketing programs in which Kepulauan Bangka Belitung as the coordinator will set a website for tourism in Sumatra region. Mr. Farid from Domestic Promotion from General Directorate of Tourism Marketing of Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also attended the meeting and presented the national strategy for marketing Indonesia Tourism.

On 4 April 2012, The CTO and Bappeda were collaborating with UNDP through Provincial Governance Strengthening Program to conduct a seminar for integrating tourism to regional development in Aston Bangka Hotel. Prof Dr. I Gde Pitana from Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Dr. Budi faisal from P2Par ITB , Mrs. Yuna Ekowati from ASITA and Mellyana Frederica from UNDP were among the speakers, as well as Mr. Budi Setiawan from KPLB (local NGO) as the main discussant.

From 29 March - 1 April 2012, Bangka Belitung was at Deep-Extreem Indonesia, at JHCC

On 10 March 2012, Government Culture and Tourism Offices of Bangka Belitung and ASITA / HPI/PHRI of Bangka Belitung were at the gathering for direct selling with tourism industries in Batam, Kepulauan Riau.

From 2 - 4 March 2012, Bangka belitung attended International carnival of Victoria in Seychelles with Serdang Bedagai representing Indonesia, and won the 3rd place. The Bangka bBlitung dancers also made performances at the stage of the opening ceremony and cocktail party at Constance Ephilia resort held to introduce Bangka Belitung to the potential tourists in Seychelles. Meetings also conducted with Minister of Health, Minister of Youth and industries.
